ACADEMIC OFFER, LANGUAGES OF TRAINING

Nicolae Testemitanu University offers the following degree programs for foreign citizens:

    • Preparatory year (Romanian, English) – duration 1 year;
    • Romanian language intensive course for residents – duration 3 months;

  • Integrated higher education:
    • Medicine – MD (Romanian, English, French, Russian) – duration 6 years;
    • Dentistry (Romanian, English, Russian) – duration 5 years;
    • Pharmacy (Romanian, English, French, Russian) – duration 5 years;

  • Undergraduate studies
    • Optometry (Romanian, English) – duration 3 years;
    • Nursing (Romanian) – duration 4 years;
    • Public Health (Romanian) – duration 3 years;
    • Physiolinetoterapy and Rehabilitation (Romanian) – duration 3 years; 

  • Master degree studies
    • Molecular Technologies in Healthcare (Romanian, English) – duration 2 years;
    • Human Nutrition (Romanian) – duration 2 years;
    • Mental Public Health (Romanian) – duration 2 years;
    • Clinical Optometry (Romanian) – duration 2 years;

  • Residency studies:
    • Medicine (Romanian) – the duration depends on the chosen specialty;
    • Dentistry (Romanian) – the duration depends on the chosen specialty;
    • Pharmacy (Romanian) – the duration depends on the chosen specialty.

The minimum accepted level for applying to studies is B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. All students must learn Romanian as part of the curriculum, regardless of the language in which the teaching process takes place.

Before joining the undergraduate course, foreign students can opt for a 1-year preparatory course, which includes the basic elements of biology, chemistry and physics in Romanian or English

Admission Regulations

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova accepts applicants for admission to the 1st year and applicants for transfer from other universities. 


To participate in the competition for admission to the 1st year, candidates are required to submit to the Admission Board digital and paper versions of the following documents:

a) Application form;

* For the preparatory year, please use this Application form;

b) Copy of the national identity document (national passport) valid for not less than one year from entry date on the territory of the Republic of Moldova;

c) Copies of documents of education (Bachelor Diploma or its equivalent, for pre-university or university studies) translated into Romanian, English, or Russian, notarized and legalized in the manner established by the authorities of the country (Apostille – for member-states of the Hague Convention, for other countries – stamp of the Foreign Ministry of that country, with further legalization in the General Consular Directorate of the Republic of Moldova);

* For candidates from India – also certificate of successful pass of NEET

d) Copy of certificate of proficiency in the required language of studies;

e) Notarized copy of the birth certificate;

f) Notarized copy of parental consent for persons under the age of 18;

g) Copy of marriage certificate;

h) Declaration of responsibility for veridity and legality of submitted documents;

i) A digital photo 3 x 4 cm for passport / visa and 2 matt photos 3 x 4 for passport / visa.

Note: Documents mentioned in clauses c), d), e), f), g) must be translated into Romanian, Russian, or English and must be notarized in the manner established by the legal authorities of that country.

Copies of documents shall be submitted personally, by authorized persons, or by e-mail to the Admission Board (e-mail: foreign@usmf.md).


To participate in the competition for transfer from another university (2nd, 4th years, Faculty of Pharmacy only), candidates are required to submit to the Admission Board digital and paper versions of the following documents:

a) Application form;

b) Copy of the national identity document (national passport) valid for not less than one year from entry date on the territory of the Republic of Moldova;

c) Academic transcript issued by the previous university

d) Curriculum issued by the previous university

e) Copies of documents of education (Bachelor Diploma or its equivalent, for pre-university or university studies) translated into Romanian, English or Russian, notarized and legalized in the manner established by the authorities of the country (Apostille – for member-states of the Hague Convention, for other countries – stamp of the Foreign Ministry of that country, with further legalization in the General Consular Directorate of the Republic of Moldova);

Admission Exams

Competition for admission consists in obtaining the „admitted / rejected” by candidates after assessment of professional motivation and communication skills in an interview (conversation) and calculation of the contest average.

A. Admission contest for the holders of a Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) certified with objects biology, chemistry, physics and English is done using the following formula:

AM = 0,3MB + 0,2MC +0,1MPh, + 0,4ML

where: AM – average mark calculated as weighted average; MB – mark on biology from the diploma of previous studies; MC – mark on chemistry from the diploma of previous studies; MPh – mark on physics from the diploma of previous studies; ML – mark on English from the diploma of previous studies.

B. If one of the components set is missing, the calculation of the average mark is based on admission examination and is done using the following formula:

AM = 0,3MBE + 0,2MCE +0,1MPhE, + 0,4MLE

where: AM – average mark calculated as weighted average; MBE – mark on biology exam; MCE – mark on chemistry exam; MPhE – mark on physics exam; MLE – mark on English exam.<br>

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for admission of foreign students in the academic year 2025-2026. For more details, please contact the Department of Recruitment and Documentation of Foreign Citizens (foreign@usmf.md) or our official representatives abroad.

  • Preparatory year (Romanian, English) – 2400 €*;
    * If the graduate of preparatory courses does not continue studies in the same university’s higher education program, the fee for preparatory course represents 4400 €
  • Romanian language intensive course for residents – 450 €;
  • Integrated higher education:
    • Medicine – MD (Romanian, English, French, Russian) – 6000 € per academic year;
    • Dentistry (Romanian, English, Russian ) – 7000 € per academic year;
    • Pharmacy (Romanian, English, French, Russian) – 4000 € per academic year;

  • Undergraduate studies
    • Optometry (Romanian, English) – 5800 € per academic year;

  • Doctoral studies:
    • Part-time (Romanian) – 5700 € per academic year;
  • Admission fee – 100 €.

The tuition fees do not include invitation, visa, hostel accommodation, food, medical insurance, and other fees.

Accommodation

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy offers accommodation services on the university campus especially for he first year foreign students. All hostels are equipped with kitchen, shower rooms, internet and other facilities. Accommodation fee is 70-150 euros, depending on the option chosen (in the room for one, two or three people).

Also, foreign students have the opportunity to rent apartments in Chisinau city.
