If you have completed secondary school (for Bachelor’s), a university degree (for Master’s), or a Master’s (for doctoral studies), you are generally eligible to apply to Moldovan universities.
To qualify, you must:
- Hold a recognized diploma or certificate that is valid for university admission in your country.
- Have a sufficient level of language proficiency (Romanian, English, or Russian, depending on the program).
- Submit authenticated (apostilled or legalized) copies of your diplomas.
- Be able to provide proof of funds to support your studies and stay.
Don’t worry—if your documents are in another language, they can be translated into Romanian or English as part of the application process.
1. Choose your program and university
Browse through Moldova’s public and private universities, compare programmes and languages of instruction (Romanian, English, Russian), and pick the one that suits your goals.
2. Prepare your documents
You will typically need:
- Passport (valid at least 6 months)
- Diploma(s) and transcripts (authenticated)
- Language certificate (if applicable)
- Motivation letter or CV (some universities)
- Medical certificate
- Application form
3. Submit your application
Most universities use government portal eAdmitere and accept only online applications.
4. Pay fees (if accepted)
If accepted, you’ll receive a conditional offer and be asked to pay the first semester tuition fee to secure your place.
5. Get your invitation letter
Once payment is confirmed, your university will issue an official invitation letter that allows you to apply for a student visa (if needed).
6. Apply for a visa and prepare to travel
Follow the visa application process (see Visa & Arrival page) and plan your travel to Moldova!
Fees vary by field (e.g., medicine is higher than humanities) and by university. Exact fees are listed on each university’s website.

- Student dormitory: €40–60

- Internet & phone: €5–8
- Romanian – the official language of instruction in most public programmes

Language preparatory courses (6–12 months) are available for those who want to improve their Romanian or English before starting a degree.
